Cover My Share

Terms of Service

The ground rules for using Cover My Share, including the optional text messages.

Terms of Service

Effective November 1, 2026.

These terms are between you and inWorks LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, 143 Cedar Lane, Chester Springs, PA 19425-3514, phone 215-995-5562, which operates Cover My Share (“we” and “us”).

What Cover My Share is

Cover My Share helps a household keep track of who owes what on shared bills, and reminds people when money is due. We are not a payment processor, a money transmitter, or a financial institution. We never take custody of anyone’s money. Every payment happens directly between the people involved, using whatever method they agree on (Zelle, Venmo, a check, cash, or anything else) - entirely outside this app.

Your account and household

You must be at least 18 years old to create a household. As the Organizer, you are responsible for everyone you add to it: only add people you actually share bills or expenses with, and keep their contact information accurate. Adding someone sends them an email, so this is not a way to contact strangers - accounts used that way may be rate-limited or suspended.

What we ask of you

Use the service for its actual purpose: tracking and requesting money for bills within a real household. Do not use it to harass anyone, to misrepresent who owes what, or to try to get around the limits we put in place to keep the service usable for everyone.

Price

Cover My Share is free during launch. If we introduce paid features, we will post prices and give at least 60 days’ notice, and we will never charge anyone who has not chosen to buy.

No guarantee about money changing hands

Cover My Share tracks what people say and sends reminders; it does not guarantee that anyone actually pays, pays on time, or pays the right amount. Disputes about money between members of a household are between those people - we are a record-keeper, not an arbiter.

The service as-is

Cover My Share is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for a missed payment, a reminder that did not arrive, or a disagreement between household members about money.

Ending an account

An Organizer can stop using the service, and request deletion of a household’s data, at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access for an account that violates these terms, particularly the rules above about who may be added and why.

Text messages

Cover My Share bill reminders by text are optional. If you sign up, we send you transactional text messages about your household’s bills: reminders that your share of a bill is due (the amount, who to pay and by when), notices when a due date changes, a household member’s reply about a bill, a notice when a bill you added is removed, and a sign-up confirmation. We never send marketing or promotional texts, and we never ask for passwords, card or bank details by text. Mobile numbers and text message consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

  • Only you can sign up. You opt in yourself, in the app under My contact details, by entering your own mobile number, choosing Text or Email and text, and ticking the consent box. An Organizer can record your number but cannot sign you up for texts. Texting is not a condition of using Cover My Share; email always works. See exactly how and where you agree on our text message sign-up page.
  • How often. Message frequency varies, usually 2 to 8 texts per bill each month. Right after you sign up you get one text confirming it.
  • Cost. Msg and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
  • Help. Reply HELP to any text for help, or email notices@covermyshare.app.
  • Stopping. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT also work). Your reminders then come by email instead. You can also switch to Email in My contact details. To get texts again, turn them back on in My contact details; replying START alone does not sign you up again.
  • Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page.
